New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents the incomparable State Ballet Theatre of Russia with its traditional staging of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, complete with sparkling sets, enchanting costumes, and more than 65 performers who bring Tchaikovsky's beloved score to life. The Nutcracker is a perennial favorite of generations of children, a treasured holiday adventure that follows a little girlâs journey through a fantasy world of fairies, princes, toy soldiers, and an army of mice. This staging incorporates the same, authentic Russian choreography that is performed by the famed Bolshoi Ballet, all set to Tchaikovskyâs beloved music, including âWaltz of the Flowers, "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairyâ and âWaltz of the Snowflakes.â
The State Ballet Theatre of Russia is dedicated to maintaining a solid tradition of superior Russian classical dance. The company has received critical acclaim for its performances throughout Europe, India, Africa, and the U.S. "Their crystalline clarity is hard to match,â says The San Diego Union Tribune. âThe dancing is vivacious, secure, and diamond sharp."
This holiday season, create magical memories that will last a lifetime with this timeless ballet â a must-see event for the entire family! Tickets to see The Nutcracker are available at NJPAC.org or 888.GO.NJPAC (888.466.5722) or by visiting the NJPAC Box Office.Â
