Go-To Breakfasts For Easier Mornings!

Some easy meals to start your family's day

Mornings can be very hectic with getting yourself and your little humans out the door. If I know I can put together an easy breakfast that works for me and my kids (something they will actually eat!), the day is off to a better start. Check out my go-to breakfasts below for something new for your morning routine!

1.  Avocado Toast with a Hard Boiled Egg and Hot Sauce - A classic that always fills me up! I try to start the week with a bunch of hard boiled eggs ready to go. I usually pair my egg with an individual pack of guacamole (so it doesn't go bad) and I put some lemon pepper seasoning on top with some hot sauce for a kick.

2. Oatmeal with Apple Pieces or Slices. I usually grab a instant oatmeal pack and pop it in the microwave. Afterwards I add some milk, peanut butter (if you're looking for more flavor or protein), some apple pieces (little cubes are great for little mouths!) and I sprinkle some cinnamon on top.

3. Egg & Cheese on a Tortilla. Tortillas are definitely a staple in my house because you can do so much with them for any meal of the day. I sprinkle some shredded cheese (usual a Mexican or Taco blend) on top, add a hard boiled egg, and pop it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Then I wrap it up like a burrito!

4. Nutella on Toast with Bananas. I am such a Nutella lover, so I'll take any excuse to use it! This is definitely a go-to with my 4 year old on those mornings where she's "not hungry" or just really picky. If I add Nutella to anything (even oatmeal) she's a lot more willing to eat something before we're out the door.

5. Yogurt and Strawberries with Whipped Cream. This one was inspired by my husband (he loves sweets) and my daughter (she loves strawberries and yogurt). Whipped cream is like Nutella, a great way to make any regular breakfast special (and more appealing to your picky eater!).

6. Hummus on Toast with An Egg. Inspired by my husband, who started adding hummus to his toast in the morning. It's a great alternative to avocados/guacamole if you're craving something different, but still filling. We usually sprinkle some lemon pepper or zesty garlic on top of this family favorite.

7. Sausage with Scrambled Egg and Hash Browns. Something delicious and very filling, especially for the kids. I usually use cut up sausage from other meals, breakfast sausage or any type of sausage does the trick. If you have the time, you can buy uncooked breakfast sausage and cook it stove top (worth it for the taste!). I use frozen hash browns (in any shape or size) and bake them in the oven while I make the eggs.

8. French Toast with Blueberries and Powdered Sugar. Feeling fancy or just have some extra time on your hands? Then make this butterfly breakfast by cutting up your french toast and adding some blueberries and powered sugar to it for decoration and extra sweetness.

8. Waffles with Jam, an Egg, and Bananas. Adding jam to our waffles has been a nice alternative to syrup. Peanut butter works great too! Another great time to add an egg for extra protein, I'm sure you're catching on to a theme by now ; ). Add some cut up bananas for some fruit. If you're feeling fancy and happen to have a kitchen blow torch, add some sugar to you bananas for a special treat.

I hope my go-to breakfasts help out with the morning rush!
